Question of the Day: PSATs

Are you ready for the PSATs?

This Saturday is the big test before the big test.

Thousands of high school students will sit down for the Preliminary SATs this weekend. Although scores received on the test are not considered by colleges in the application process, the test still garners quite a few headaches. The test is used as an indicator of what a student's score will be on the real SATs. High scorers on the PSATs are also considered for National Merit Scholarships.

Are you taking the PSATs on Saturday? Are you prepared?

If you have already taken them, were you happy with your scores?

Compliments to the author of the article. Very few writers know not to put an apostrophe in PSATs. The other one you see so often is Do's and Dont's -- awful!

Yet another indicator of Syosset schools destroying kids' education, draining the joy out of learning, and creating robots. We favor high test scores over calling for creativity, discovery, and exploration. By drilling kids and emphasizing high-stakes testing, Syosset schools tell kids essentially to sit down, shut up, and listen to the teacher.
