South Woods Students Prepare Italian Culinary Treats

Eighth grade students at South Woods Students took their Italian studies to new heights on a field trip to À la Carte Culinary Institute in Lynbrook in early May, according to the Syosset Central School District website

There, they discovered traditional Italian cuisine and the regional differences in food.

Placed randomly in small groups, the students prepared an Italian meal, including minestra alla campagna, polenta with broccoli rabe con pancetta, gnocchi al pomodoro, pollo piccata and tiramisù.
