Students in the class of 2012 are seniors for just one more day, as they walk into Hofstra University Wednesday at 8 p.m. for commencement. With families cheering them from the stands, students will grasp their diplomas and embark on the next chapter of their lives.
Syosset's commencement exercises are midweek, meaning unlike many schools that have their ceremonies on the weekend, Syosset's celebration doesn't fall in the mess of dozens of other commencements. On the other hand, many working parents and family members must deal with the late night and having to head to work early the next morning.
