Syosset Professor Wins Adelphi Award

Sheng is honored for the fourth time.

Syosset resident Shibin Sheng was among several Adelphi professors honored Wednesday as winners in the 2010 Bender Research Fellowship Awards.

Sheng, an associate professor of marketing, won for the article "Bundling as a New Product Introduction Strategy: The Role of Brand Image and Bundle Features." (Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Vol. 15, No. 5, December 2009.)

Sheng has been teaching marketing courses at Adelphi since 2004. He has received the Best Paper Bender Award four years consecutively. Additionally, he has served on the Campus Planning Committee since 2006; on the Institutional Review Board (IRB) Committee since 2005; and on the International Studies Committee since 2010. Sheng holds a doctoral degree in marketing from Virginia Tech.

The Bender Awards are named for James Bender, founding dean of Adelphi University School of Business. Dean Bender was associated with Adelphi for more than 25 years in various capacities, and bestowed a generous endowment upon the university to fund the awards.
