Syosset School Budget Passes

Syosset voters approved an $213 million budget on Tuesday for the 2014-15 school year.

With a final tally of 2,290 to 973  in favor, residents within the Syosset School District can expect to see a 1.33 percent increase in their collective tax levy in the following year. The budget falls within the tax levy capital limit.  

Voters also approved the establishment of a capital reserve fund by a vote of 2,183 to 930.

The following candidates won school board seats: Dr. Michael Cohen with 2,197 votes, April Neuendorf with 1,966 votes and Laura Schlesinger with 2,157 votes .
