3 Out of 4 LI Intel Finalists from Syosset-Jericho Area

Students will go to Washington, DC in March for final judging in prestigious competition.

Preeti Kakani of Jericho High School, Kaitlyn Shin of Jericho High School, and John Clarke of Syosset are among four high school students on Long Island chosen as finalists for the prestigious Intel Science Talent Search. 

The student's projects are as follows:

Kaitlyn Shin 
Photon and Positron Emission from Primordial Black Hole Clusters

John Anthony Clarke (Clarke attends Regis High School in Manhattan) 
High-Energy X-ray Emission in the Jovian Magnetosphere: A Feasibility Study for the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR)

Forty high school students from across the country were chosen as finalists. They will go to Washington, DC in March to undergo final judging, display their work to the public, meet with notable scientists, and compete for $630,000 in awards, including the top award of $100,000.
