Syosset School District residents will vote on the district’s $213 million proposed budget for the 2014-15 school year on Tuesday.
The proposal calls for a 1.76 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.33 percent percent tax levy increase, which is within the state's tax cap.
School officials say the fiscal plan allows for continuation of the district’s educational and related programs.
Four candidates are officially running for three school board seats. Incumbents Michael Cohen and April M. Neuendorf are on the ballot as are Laura Schlesinger and Bill Weiner.
Voting will be held 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Syosset High School, H.B. Thompson Middle School and Robbins Lane Elementary School.
