Students at Walt Whitman Elementary pledge to steer clear of bullies.

Presenters from Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) recently visited the third and fourth grade students at the Walt Whitman School to present the "Steer Clear of Bullies" program, a two-session workshop aimed at bullying intervention on the elementary school level.

The multimedia program focused on topics including empathy, social skills building and bullying prevention.  Presenters discussed ways of dealing with bullying, how to be a good friend, and being a helpful bystander.  Students also participated in role playing to practice what they had learned.
