The Third-Grade Drama Club traveled back to the 1950s at A.P. Willits Elementary School in Syosset with a performance of “Grease” on Dec. 18 for parents and peers.

Students portrayed the roles of Sandy, Danny, Cha-Cha, Patty, T-Birds, Pink Ladies and many others while singing and dancing to iconic songs, including “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightning,” “Freddy My Love” and “We Go Together.”

The third-graders have been working for the past several months to prepare for the show, practicing during their recess and coming into school early a few mornings to work on their staging, singing and dancing. Participating in the performance enables students to practice their memorization, public speaking and teamwork skills and serves as a major highlight of the year.
