Athlete of the Week: Ryan Feit

Sophomore already set to play at Division I program.

Just call a college lacrosse breeding ground.

Ryan Hunter isn't the only Braves lacrosse player to have recently committed early to play in college. In fact, he isn't even the only Ryan on the team to do so. Ryan Feit, a sophomore goalie, has verbally committed play after his Braves career has finished.

The school?  Johns Hopkins University.

The journey for the goaltender has been a long one. He began playing lacrosse in the second grade, picking up a goalie stick from the very beginning and never leaving the position. While still in middle school, Feit was bumped up to the Syosset High School varsity team and quickly became a star.

This past summer, Feit played on the Long Island Empire team. After acing a tryout which saw nearly 700 hopefuls, he was one of the few High School freshman ever selected. The team won a gold medal at a summer tournament in Buffalo.

The decision to commit was an easy one for Feit. While he also considered Princeton, Harvard, and Cornell, Johns Hopkins always stood out. Both his parents attended the school, making it a childhood dream of Ryan's to carry on the Feit legacy at the Baltimore University.

Still a sophomore at Syosset High School, the goaltender has three more years (and seasons) before entering college. When not mentally preparing to stop opponent's shots, Feit enjoys studying math. Upon graduation, he is considering a major in either business or pre-med.

While Feit may still have a lot of decisions to make about his life after High School, at least he knows where he'll be headed.
