Get Your Beach Stickers Early

EARLY SALE OF BEACH STICKERS SET FOR MAY 12

For Oyster Bay Town resident beach devotees who want to purchase seasonal beach stickers early and avoid the rush, the Town’s Parks Department will be selling stickers on Saturday, May 12, according to Town Councilman Joseph G. Pinto.

“If you want to avoid the possibility of waiting in line for your beach sticker on Memorial Day weekend, the best thing to do is buy your sticker early,” Councilman Pinto said. “On Saturday, May 12, beach stickers will be for sale at Tobay Beach, John J. Burns Town Park (Massapequa) and Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park and Beach (Oyster Bay) from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.”

According to the Councilman, the Town has held the line on the price of a beach sticker at the 2010 level of $50.00. “The Town’s beach sticker gives you great value for your vacation dollar because it is good at all seven Town beaches,” Councilman Pinto said, “Since many residents head to the beaches over the Memorial Day weekend, purchasing your beach sticker early would be a smart thing to do.”

The Councilman reminded residents that in order to purchase a beach sticker, they must bring their driver’s license and vehicle registration. The sticker will be affixed to the vehicle at the time of purchase, so be sure to drive the vehicle you will be using to go to the beach when you come to purchase a beach sticker.

Councilman Pinto added that beach-lovers will be able to get an early start on the season on Saturday, May 26, when Tobay, Centre Island, Philip B. Healey at Florence Avenue and Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Beaches will be open for weekends only. All beaches will be open seven days a week beginning Saturday, June 23, and continuing through Monday, September 3 (Labor Day).
