Is Long Island the Minor Leagues?

There's talk of a minor league hockey team moving into the new Coliseum; would you support them?

By Joe Dowd

After decades of being home to an NHL franchise, will Long Islanders bother to support a minor league team?

Now there's speculation that The American Hockey League could make a move to Bruce Ratner's updated LI arena once the Islanders move to Brooklyn.

Sure, there's the Ducks and the Cyclones, but Nassau residents are used to watching the top athletes in the world, either at the Nassau Coliseum or the New York area's world-class sports venues.

Besides, the Islanders aren't moving to Iceland; they'll be a train ride away in Brooklyn.

Tell Us: Would you support an American Hockey League team at Ratner's new arena? And, going forward, should the Coliseum focus more on being a sports venue or an entertainment venue?
