football season ended far too soon, but star linebacker Evan Kappatos is still making plays.
The latest came Wednesday when the New York State Sportswriters Association announced the All-State football team. Kappatos, a 6-foot-1, 235-pound senior, was named to the Class AA first team.
Kappatos recorded 106 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions for the 1-7 Braves.
It caps a season in which the senior took home his , given to Nassau County’s top linebacker.
Kappatos was an All-State second teamer as a junior.
