Syosset Baseball Already Preps for Next Season

A car wash/tag sale fund-raiser is one of main tasks on the agenda.

Friday's 10-1 loss in non-league action against Farmingdale--after already being eliminated from playoff contention the week before--was deemed a get-everybody-in afternoon by Syosset coach Pat Fitzgerald.

But that's not to mean the action wasn't meaningful. The game wound down with junior pitcher John Leonardo showing plenty of promise against the Dalers. It's not an usual site for Fitzgerald, who has 10 pitchers who will be seniors next year.

That's a good reason to keep the enthusiasm going for the future, and the newly formed Baseball Booster Club is doing its part with a car wash/tag sale on May 22  from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in front of the tennis courts at the high school. (Rain date is May 23 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.)
