Syosset Girls Swimming Rebounds From Loss to Farmingdale

The first round in the battle for Nassau County Conference II girls swimming supremacy went the way of the Farmingdale Dalers on Monday afternoon, as a 58-44 loss gave Syosset its first loss of the season. For a team that had expectations of an undefeated season, a loss so early in the year was a hard pill to swallow.

“Now, we’re looking to get through the remainder of our conference season and hopefully just have the one loss,” Head coach Rich Powell said.

The contributions of Herberer and Fillipatos helped “sew up the second place trophy for us,” according to Sessa.

The freshmen will compete in the St Anthony's Invitational at Sunken Meadow on Saturday, Oct. 1. Syosset’s varsity team will run at the Manhattan Invitational, the largest meet in the country, on Sunday, Oct. 9 at Van Cordlandt Park in the Bronx.
