Syosset Volleyball Falls to Plainview JFK

Braves hope to learn from loss as playoffs loom.

After losing the first two games of Wednesday's volleyball match against Plainview JFK, it looked like all was lost for Syosset.

The Braves did lose 3-1 to fall to 5-7 on the season. But not before finding some spark in the third game that they can hopefully build on as the playoffs near.

Up 8-6 in the third middle hitter Nick Walsh made a nice tip-over, followed by a strong kill to push the score to 10-7. From there Syosset blew open the lead to 19-9. Opposite hitter Alex Weiss finished off the game with consecutive kills, giving the Braves a 25-20 victory.

With the crowd on its side Syosset looked like it was ready to make a run to even the score. The Braves quickly found themselves in an early 8-2 hole, but were able to climb out and eventually take the lead 14-13 before faltering and losing the finale 25-20.
