Teams finish season strong.

4th Grade Boys Red

The Syosset boys Red team finished their regular season undefeated with a hard-fought 7-6 win over a very tough Seaford squad. The boys were led by their standout defensive unit and star goalie Tyler Parlo. Parlo played three quarters and had 14 saves, many spectacular, versus only two goals allowed. He also added an assist on the game-winning goal in the fourth quarter. His play all year has been stellar, with saves and clearing passes that amazed his coaches and fans alike. J.T. Roselle once again played an outstanding game at defense, leading the team with six ground balls and igniting fast breaks with his speed and clearing ability. Fellow defensemen Max Verch, Matty Luneberg, Austin Maccarone and Trevor Fiedrich all contributed to the effort, with Tommy Markou finishing the game up at goal after playing a solid three quarters at attack.

Dominic Speranza got the scoring started with a goal off a nice assist from Chris Daugherty. Dylan Gefter scored the next two goals off assists from Daugherty and Griffen Berke to give Syosset a 3-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.  All-star middie J.P.Lannig scored another beautiful goal off an assist from his buddy Speranza, and Daugherty scored an electrifying breakaway goal  for a 5-2 halftime lead.  After Gefter scored his third goal of the game off a great assist from the constantly improving Eli Feder, the boys had a comfortable 6-2 lead.

The 5th grade boys team finished its season with back-to-back wins. Two weeks ago they dominated Manhasset in an 11-2 victory. This past Sunday at the PAL festival the team continued with a 7-2 win over Lynbrook. The offense moved the ball well, with scoring from Jack Lukacovic and Matthew Farrell off of midfield drives. On attack, Jared Goldberg, Thomas Middendorf, Siddharth Menon and  Matt Sobel added to the lead with goals and pinpoint assists. Andrew Kravitz and Will Sanchez had their first goals of the season. David Moyett and Matthew Korn fought hard on transitional play and ground balls. Chris Moon, Cameron Zandieh, David Griffin, Greg Newman, Ben Prevor, Matthew Frank, Matt Benus and Griffin Halpern all had key possessions and plays that enabled success.  Goal was shared by Justin Corallo and Jack Moore, who both did an excellent job denying points by the Lynbrook offense. Dylan Diaz and Michael Sherman led the defense, along with Manny Hur, Riley Frain, Connor Ranges and Justin Andersen. Jimmy Sheehy and Zack Tannenbaum were assets the entire season but unable to play due to injuries.  Special thanks to the Prevors for hosting the celebration following the team's well-deserved wins.
