OLMA celebrates 85 years of education by honoring families of faith.

Our Lady of Mercy Academy, an all girls, Catholic college preparatory school, located in Syosset, will celebrate its 85th Anniversary with a Gala on Friday, April 26.  In this the Year of Faith in the Catholic Church, Our Lady of Mercy will honor members of the Mercy community who are faith-filled individuals and supporters of Catholic education, namely, Marilyn Martone and her daughter, Michelle ’94, of Sea Cliff, Joseph Salvo and his wife, Barbara Breen ’75, of Lake Grove, Deacon Jerry Reda and his wife, Suzanne, of St. James and posthumously,

The Gala will be held at the Huntington Crescent Club, a private club located on the North Shore of Long Island. Mary and Michael Frinquelli, of Cold Spring Harbor, and Marianne and Constantine Iordanou, of Upper Brookville, are the co-chairs of this special evening.  The evening will feature the music of Frankie Valli as well as a live auction.

A portion of the Gala proceeds will go to the creation of a unique experience called the “Mercy Eden Research Program.”  Eden will engage students in a learning environment while making use of Mercy’s campus.  The Eden vision includes the creation of a greenhouse, lab and weather station that will be located on the Academy’s almost one hundred acres.
