OLMA's Amanda Mienko Awarded 1st Place in NCHS Art Competition

Our Lady of Mercy Academy senior, Amanda Mienko, awarded 1st place in the NCHS Student Juried Art Competition & Exhibition for her drawing, "Ice Cream."

Congratulations to Our Lady of Mercy Academy's Amanda Mienko, President of the OLMA National Art Honor Society, whose pencil drawing "Ice Cream" was awarded 1st place in the 2012 Nassau County High School Student Juried Art Competition and Exhibition, sponsored by The Art Guild.  

Margaret Zox Brown, an award winning New York City artist, judged the original works for awards. She was also in attendance at the reception to discuss the exhibit. The award was presented this last Friday evening at the opening reception at the Tilles Center, Long Island University (LIU Post Campus).


The exhibit remains on view through December 31st.
