Syosset Runs for Hospital
Heart and Sole 5K sponsored by Greater Long Island Runners Club.
The Greater Long Island Runners Club recently held its annual Heart and Sole 5K run on behalf of North Shore University Hospital at Plainview and Syosset. The event took place at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School.
Among those in attendance were Syosset resident and longtime Greater Long Island Road Runners Club supporter Joan Ackerman, as well as Syosset's Bert Jablon, who has won numerous road race awards in his age group.
"It was a very successful turnout and participation," Nassau County Legis. Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) said. "Runners braved the heat and came through, as they always do."
