Vets to Focus on Memorial Day's Meaning at Parade
They will march and fire a salute on Monday.
Monday's Syosset Memorial Day Parade is going to be a lot of fun. But often this holiday's real meaning--remembering those who gave their lives for this country in battle--gets lost in the shuffle.
Members of Syosset's American Legion andVeterans of Foreign Wars are determined not to let that happen. They will march in the parade, then take up vintage weapons to fire a salute at the ensuing ceremony.
