I bike to work almost every day using an on-road portion of the soon-to-be-completed Bethpage…Read More Bikeway Extension. Although the OFF-road portion of this bikeway is going to be a gem, the painted lanes along Piquets Lane and Southwoods Road do not make for safe riding for anybody but an experienced cyclist.

As far as I know, everyone has gone back to the same old ways.…Read More For example, in my neighborhood, Syosset Groves, they have started another another round of curb and apron replacements and repaving without making provisions to replace sidewalks so they can move electric and communications underground below them, although they saw most of the neighborhood without power for 10 days during Sandy, and nine almost 60 year old dried out telephone poles on my block alone snap like twigs during Sandy, and there is funding for the cost to do this available via storm damage mitigation programs and public-private partnerships for infrastructure improvements!

No. Apparently they were not as visible along the east coast as in other areas.

Our dogs also eat cicadas. They dig them up or catch them when they emerge in our back yard.
