I believe the speed limits on Berry Hill and Split Rock are 30 mph, correct me if I'm wrong. If notRead More they should be no higher than that. Also better enforcement on both would be helpful since people tend to go much faster up both roads.

Oh, please, enough with the speed control. There is no epidemic of speed related accidents. ItsRead More just the usual "lets control everybody's life" attitude that makes living on this Island so oppressive. Those old speed limits were set to safely move traffic when cars weighed 5000 pounds, had mechanical brakes and rode on thin tires with inner tubes. Modern vehicles with advanced tires, ABS brakes and lighter bodies are even more than capable of handling these road designs. If someone is going too fast for your taste, let em go. You can always drive the speed you feel comfortable, but PLEASE, enough with reducing the speeds around here. At which point are we just gonna make every road 10 MPH?

Grifhunter: While parts of your statement about the mechaincal advances on modern vehicles may beRead More true, the balance of it implies a level of ignorance that i certainly hope is not true. Perhaps we should remove all stop signs, traffic lights, guardrails, road dividers, etc because you, and maybe others with a thought process similar to yours think you are better driver and are above any laws, when in fact you are one of the reasons why the lasw were created in the first place! Hey, maybe your one of the people that have the unique ability to text, drink a Starbucks, and drive at the same time. Do me a favor, stay off my street. If you don't like it here, leave, and go live where tha taxes are less and the speed limits are higher.

Kudos to the Town re:"noise ordinance" for leaf blowers. However for weeks my neighborsRead More & I have been subjected to noise from construction workers at 7:30am weekdays & 8am weekends. Electric saws, generators, hammers, etc. It would be wonderful if these workers could be held to the same standard & we could have an all inclusive "noise ordinance"

I believe all seniors seeking early decision are invited to forward October SAT scores. At leastRead More that has been the case in my 30 years of teaching high school and tutoring for the entrance exams.

While some colleges do, in fact, permit students who apply Early Action or Early Decision to submitRead More scores after the deadline (provided that the application is otherwise complete), such a policy is not universal, by any means. With the growing number of "Early" applicants, many schools are strictly adhering to deadlines, inclusive of standardized test scores. In either case, College Board cuts it much too close, and does a great disservice to the college-bound.
