Alan J. Wax
Alan J. Wax has written about the Long Island wine industry since 1989. He is a former writer and editor for Newsday and now runs his own public relations firm, WaxWords Inc., in Melville.  In addition, he is a freelance writer and the author of the soon-to-go-live drinks blog Corks, Caps & Taps.  His writings have appeared in Building Long Island, Wine Spectator, Wine & Vines, Wine Business Monthly, Beer the Magazine, American Brewer, Long Island Business News and elsewhere. He also taught journalism at Five Towns College.
A Brooklyn native, Alan is now a resident of Dix Hills. He has lived on Long Island since 1979 with his wife, Jeanne Behrman. They have four adult children and one grandson. He is has bachelor's degree from Stony Brook University (f/k/a as SUNY at Stony Brook) and a master's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. In addition to wine and beer, he enjoys Scotch whiskey, Cognac and other spirits.
