Services Set for Former Syosset Resident
Elizabeth Keenan was a St. Edward's parishioner, Syosset High School truant officer.
Funeral services are set for Thursday for Elizabeth "Gloria" Keenan. She died peacefully in her sleep after an illness Tuesday at the age of 89.
She was born in 1924 in Elmhurst, Queens and later moved to Syosset where was a long time parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Syosset. Also while living in Syosset, she worked as a truant officer at Syosset High School.
In her lifetime, she was a member of the Altar Society at St. Edward's.
She was predeceased by her husbands Eugene T. Heimers and James F. Keenan. Survived by loving children Elizabeth and her husband Richard, Nancy and her husband Edward, Patricia and her husband Daniel, stepsons James and Raymond.. Grandchildren Brian, Colleen, Kevin, Edward, Timothy, Siman, Elizabeth. Great grandmother of Owen, Keira, Sloane, Aaron. Survived by sister Margaret and ten nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Thursday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Daphson Funeral Home in Rhinebeck. A mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church in Rhinebeck. Burial will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery for family.
