Cops: 2 Arrested in Syosset for North Shore Burglaries

A man and woman were arrested in Syosset for a burglaries that took place on the North Shore, authorities said.

Nassau detectives arrested Nicholas P. Mustakas, 19, of 17 Vernon Avenue, East Norwich, and Nicole E. Ottaiano, 23, of 7 Mariners Walk, Oyster Bay, for a burglary at a home on Singleworth Street in Oyster Bay on Wednesday.

Police said that during an investigation, they found the pair in possession of electronics and jewelry stolen from the Oyster Bay home.

During the investigation police discovered that the pair also burglarized the same home on Thursday, January 9, and another home on Muttontown Lane, East Norwich on Sunday, January 26, 2014 and Sunday, February 16, 2014, in which undisclosed items were taken.

Mustakas and Ottaiano were each charged with four counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

They were scheduled for arraignment Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
