As temperatures soar to almost 90 degrees, Syosset Library will close their doors early on Tuesday.

While residents will have to cut reading time short, replacement air conditioners are due to arrive this week.

The library announced that the old "chiller" unit will be removed and the new one will be installed on Thursday.

"This will be a difficult and dangerous job and therefore the library and parking lot will be closed all day," the library announced.

Library officials aded that their contractor said the system will take several days to be fully operational but "They will be working through the weekend to restore the air conditioning as soon as possible."
