Chipotle Opening Delayed – Again

Hungry Syosset residents will wait another week for restaurant opening.

To the disappointment of hungry students and residents, Syosset's new Chipotle has delayed their opening another week.

According to store representatives, Chipotle Mexican Grill, located on Jericho Turnpike, will open March 7. Employees said that because construction had not yet been completed on their parking lot, officials asked the restaurant to postpone the opening another week.

Chipotle was originally scheduled to open in time for Valentine's Day, but the date was revised to Feb. 21. The opening was again postponed to Feb. 28.

The newly constructed 2,500-square-foot extension to the strip of stores has been completed and indoor lighting fixtures have been hung. The location, owned by Bellmore's MGD Investments, is part of a strip that also includes Gabby's Gourmet Bagelatessen, Shake Cups, Sherwin Williams Paints, and Sprint.
