What should replace the Jewel of India?

 

Last month's . One of the reasons that improvement was tiny and not terrific is the closing of businesses. Although Borders is the most prominent empty business in Syosset, a scenic trip down Jericho Turnpike involves a lot of For Sale and Office Space signs. 

Syosset Patch will be highlighting those empty buildings in the neighborhood, asking our readers what should replace it.

This week, we're looking at the former Jewel of India restaurant.

The property, at the northwest corner of Jericho Turnpike and Florence Avenue, has been empty for almost a year. With over 4,600 interior square feet, a 40-car parking allotment, and stand out architecture, the former Jewel of India commands a $1.45 million price tag.
