Syosset, Plainview Chambers Raise Money For Hospital

Posted by Heather Doyle. Written by Ed Robinson.

A day on the links turned into a generosity towards Plainview and Syosset Hospitals, as two local chambers of commerce announced they raised $3,000 for the the North Shore LIJ facilities.

Members of the Plainview-Old Bethpage and the Syosset Woodbury chambers presented a check to hospital officials Monday.

The funds were raised at a golf tournament held jointly by the two chambers.

The organizations "met months ago to talk about a golf event, to have fun and network," said Andrew Lamkin of the Plainview chamber, who added that they decided to raise money for the hospital because North Shore LIJ has facilities in both areas.

The chambers hope to make the tourney an annual event.
