A rundown of events and reminders for Thursday in Syosset and Woodbury.
1. Syosset is due for thunderstorms during the morning commute. Showers will fade at around 1 p.m. and temperatures will hit 71 degrees.
2. CBS film editor Jack Schnur presents the two-hour presentation, Bing Crosby: The Voice of America (Part I) at 1:30 p.m. at Syosset Library. Also at the library is Toddler Playtime at 9:45 a.m.
3. Do you or someone you know dedicate their lives to caring for others? Come together at St. Bede's Church at 1:30 p.m. for their bimonthly Caring for the Caregiver support group.

4. School reminders:
- Syosset schools reopen Thursday and will resume a normal schedule after being closed for Yom Kippur.
- Syosset High School hosts an open house at 7 p.m.
- St. Edward the Confessor holds High School Night at 7 p.m. in the Holy Family Room.
