Tell Us: Downtown Beautification

What changes would you like to see in downtown Syosset?

For over a year, Jackson Avenue has been repaved, given new sidewalks and crossings, had gardens planted and replanted, and much more in an effort by the community to improve the quality of Syosset's downtown area.

Improvements have been on an individual, like those of the Residents for a More Beautiful Syosset planting and tending to the Community Garden across from St. Edward the Confessor.

They have also been at the Town government level, with almost a year's worth of construction work done during the Jackson Avenue Improvement Project to help with safety.

The work isn't finished. Laura Schultz of the Residents for a More Beautiful Syosset to keep the north side of the LIRR in mind now that the south side is improved. Dr. Steve Jonas of Jonas Chiropractic told Patch that a unified design of storefronts would beautify business district.

So we were wondering: what can be done to beautify the downtown Syosset area? How can residents and Town officials continue the process of making Syosset not only safe, but beautiful?
