Bronx Man Accused of Jackson Avenue Burglaries

Cops: Thomas Cronin responsible for Village Pharmacy, Sandy's Shoe Repair, and Fred's Barbershop incidents.

A Bronx man is under arrest for a spree of thefts, vandalism, and robbery on Jackson Avenue.

Thomas Cronin, 49 of the Bronx, went to at about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday and took about $140 from the cash register, forcibly confronting a witness as he fled the scene, said police.

An investigation by Second Squad detectives showed Cronin was also responsible for an early morning incident several months ago. Police reported at about 1 a.m. Sept. 24, 2011, Cronin smashed the front glass door of , taking cash from the register, and smashed the glass door at the same morning.

Cronin is being charged with third degree robbery and two counts of third degree burglary. He will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
