Cops: 2 Plainview Men Found with Pot

Two Plainview men were found with marijuana in the King Kullen parking lot after an emergency caller reported seeing guns in their possession, according to police.

Two Plainview men were found with marijuana in the parking lot after an emergency caller reported seeing guns in their possession, according to police.

Oscar Diaz and Joshua Sporn, both 23 of Plainview, were sitting in a black BMW in the parking lot of King Kullen on Jericho Turnpike on Tuesday afternoon, according to police. Police responded to an emergency call at 3:27 p.m. describing the two sitting in the car loading guns, said police. No weapons were found in their possession upon their arrest, but police did report finding marijuana in the car.

Diaz is being charged with fourth and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana. He will be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Sporn is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and will appear in First District Court on Jan. 13.
