Woodbury Bank Robbed at Gunpoint

Two men held up Capital One Bank with semi-automatic handguns, police said.

Detectives are hunting two men that held up Capital One Bank in Woodbury Tuesday.

According to Nassau County Police, two men, armed with semi-automatic handguns, entered the Capital One Bank on Jericho Turnpike at about 4 p.m. Tuesday. The two demanded money from the teller, who complied, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. The subjects fled on foot through the Woodbury Common parking lot heading east, cops reported.

No one was reported injured in the incident.

One subject is described as a 35 to 40-year-old white male, about five feet seven inches tall and between 110 and 120 pounds, police said. He had bushy brown hair, was wearing a white baseball cap, large black sunglasses, zippered black jacket, and blue jeans.

The second subject is described as a black man, about six feet tall, aged 35 to 40, and medium build, police said. He was reportedly wearing a kangol-type hat, sunglasses, a two-tone jacket with tan sleeves, and jeans.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
