PTA Council Presents: Rx Nightmare

 

After recent retaliation by legislators against the and several drug-driven tragedies on Long Island, the Syosset PTA is doing its part in securing students.

It is because of these statistics that the Wellness Committee of the Syosset Council of PTAs will present "Rx Nightmare," on Jan. 26 at . The program, with guest speaker Steven Chassman, will take a look at the impacts drug and alcohol have on the family, friends and academic performance of the user.

Chassman, a clinician and healthcare advocate, is part of the Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. His expertise in mental health conditions and substance abuse have made him a popular public speaker for Long Island schools.

Middle and high school students and parents may attend the presentation on Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Syosset High School Auditorium. Questions may be directed to Sheryl Peters at sspeters@optonline.net.
